Quality over Quantity – 2018 Utah Running Backs

The best way to describe the 2018 running back class is: quality over quantity. ( Click Here for RB Ratings ) Jacob Mpungi, Sione Molisi, and Zach Engstrom are all rock stars at the position. Tu’u Afu is a bruising fullback, that hails from a rich football bloodline. Each one of these players are key pieces to their respected offense, and can take it to the house on any given carry. Which one of these backs is at the top of our list? Only time will tell.

Here are the players that we’ve been able to evaluate. Check back, as we update their bio links.

Jacob Mpungi – He can score from multiple positions.  Also a threat on D.

Sione Molisi – The slippery – shifty back, also runs with power, and blocks very well.

Zach Engstrom – The talented athlete; can score from anywhere on the field.

Tu’u Afu – The fullback is considered one of the best in the state.

Carter Green – The gifted runner is poised to have another breakout year.

Soujah Gasu – The Cyprus Pirate has caught our eye. This could be a special year for him.

Cameron Brown – The Viewmont product; showed flashes of brilliance last season.

There are players that we have not been able to evaluate, that are D1 caliber players.  If you know of anyone that should be on this list; go to our message board and post the prospect’s name, school, and Hudl link, or just comment below, with their information.

  1. Pailate Makakona will be a two year started at what has been traditionally labeled “tailback high” … Hunter High School in West Valley. Physical yet explosive. He should definitely be on this list.
