Northern Utah – Rising Stars (Defense)

Here are the defensive players from the Northern Utah D1 Showcase, who earned a spot to Rising Stars (June 21st)

DBs

Mekhi Bright, Kearns HS, 2019 (MVP) – The Kearns DB turned heads with his competitive play and great athletic ability.  Bright had some epic battles with the top WRs in the state.

Kyrese Rowan-White, Roy HS, 2019 – Rowan – White can play DB or WR at the next level.  He looked exceptional on the defensive side of the ball, as he battled each rep.

Stephon Watson, Ben Lomond HS, 2019 – The Ben Lomond product impressed the staff and earned a trip to Rising Stars.

LBs

Brandt Opheikens, Weber HS, 2019 – Opheikens could have easily been named the MVP of the camp.  He dominated the 1 on 1s on offense and defense.

Sam Trusty, Viewmont HS, 2020 – Trusty was one of the top players in the camp.  He earned his way to our D1 watch list.

Caden Johnson, Corner Canyon, 2019 – Johnson is a prototypical LB, with great instincts and athleticism.  He had a great showing at the camp, and is a D1 caliber player.

Jackson Coyle, Viewmont HS, 2019 – The Viewmont LB looked very good in drills and dominated the 1 on 1 segments.  He earned a trip to Rising Stars.

Carter Pearce, Herriman HS, 2020 – The Herriman product is a gifted athlete that can play multiple positions.  He impressed the staff with his athleticism.

D-Line

Dylan Wistisen, Syracuse HS, 2019 – The Syracuse product earned big time reviews from the coaching staff.  He is a legitimate D1 caliber player.

Alex Harrison, Viewmont HS, 2020 (MVP) – Harrison was the only player to have a D1 performance on both sides of the ball.  The big man is a special player.

Issac Cella, Roy HS, 2019 – Cella was a force coming off the edge in 1 on 1s.  He is no doubt a D1 caliber player.

Aaron Bredsguard, Viewmont HS, 2019 – Bredsguard had a great showing at the Showcase, and earned his way to Rising Stars.  D1 caliber player.

Edgardo Huerta, Mountain Crest, 2019 – Huerta is a solid player, who punched his ticket to Rising Stars.
