Utah D1 – Defensive Line Preview

Here are the Division 1 caliber defensive lineman, that we’ve been able to evaluate in person:

Power 5 Caliber – D-lineman

These players have the potential to play for any team in America, and contribute immediately:

(listed in alphabetical order, according to first name)

CJ Alatini, Timpview HS, 2019 – Alatini is one of the top football players in the state of Utah.  We strongly believe that he can play for any of the top college football programs in America, and make a great contribution.  He dominated the Central Utah D1 Showcase.

Siaki Ika, East HS, 2019 – This is what we wrote about Ika after the IMG game: “Many consider Ika to be the one of top D-lineman in the state of Utah.  However, after last Friday; Ika proved that he’s one of the top lineman in the country.  The thing that really stood out to me was his drive throughout the game.  He had no quite in him and played from the start, until the end, with a violent chip on his shoulder. IMG had no answer for him.  Even when the game was out of hand, Ika never quit.  He kept coming the whole night, while even laying a violent hit on IMG’s star QB.  To put this into better perspective; Ika kept making plays the whole night against a mammoth offensive line, that is considered the top O-line in America.  I already knew Ika was an elite player, but last night I learned that Ika is more than an elite player.  He’s an elite player with heart, and that is rare to find.  Ika is what of the top defensive lineman in the United States of America. If this young man stays focused, he can be playing football for a long time.” Read full article here

Simote Pepa, Bingham HS, 2019 – Pepa was the most valuable player in Utah on the defensive side of the ball, a year ago. This is what we wrote about him, after the championship game: “Pepa is a MAN!  That is the simplest way to put it.  He is one of the top defensive lineman in the country, for the 2019 class, and was virtually unblockable this past season, as well as in this game.  He was an anchor up front, that helped take away a deadline inside running game by East.  He’s a player, that Power 5 schools dream of having, and expect to have in order to compete for championships.  Pepa is no doubt a Power 5 – A player.” Read full article here

Ammon Critchfield, Lehi HS, 2019 – Critchfield turned heads at Rising Stars, on both sides of the ball.  The Lehi product is a powerful athlete, that should be heavily evaluated by D1 programs. We love his potential at the next level.
